The Orthodox Church (or Eastern Orthodox Church) consists of ecclesiastically independent Christian faith groups which recognize the Patriarchates of Alexandria, Antioch, Constantinople, Jerusalem and recognize the Patriarch of Constantinople as the first of all, see the Orthodox Church as Jesus Church on Earth.
| Orthodox Church can be found in 9 countries as the dominant religious.
These countries are eastern countries such as Romania, Russia, Serbia, etc. Orthodox church can also be found in countries where Orthodoxy plays a smaller role, such as Albania, Poland, US.
Of course that you will find people that believe in Eastern Orthodox Church all over the world, but in small number. |
It is told that around the word you can find about 350 million orthodox adherents. Only in US it is estimated that the number of orthodox believers to be between 1,2 and 3 million people.
Orthodox church has an episcopal structure. Bishops are the chief ecclesiastical officers and they order priests.
Well, this small article has not the purpose to describe the orthodox church. Instead I tried to back a bit the free Orthodox templates that you will find here on our site. I tried to speak a bit about orthodox church (or Eastern Orthodox Church) the same way I will do about Baptist church, Lutheran church, etc.
As you may have observed, I referre to Orthodox Church also with the name of Eastern Orthodox Church, but this is not 100% true, due to the fact that not all orthodox churches are eastern. Orthodox believers refer to their church as “Holly Orthodox Church” or “Orthodox Church Of The East”. Actually they also refer to each region orthodox church by its name, like in “Greek Orthodox Church”, “Russian Orthodox Church”, etc.
